- פְּלוּגְתָּא, פְּלֻגְ׳,ch. sam(פלוגת division, dispute), 1) = הַפְלָגָה separation (of races). Targ. Y. Gen. 10:11. 2) (priestly) division.Pl. פְּלוּגְוָותָא, פְּלוּגְוָתָא. Targ. 2 Chr. 23:8. Ib. 8:14. Ib. 35:4, sq.; a. e. 3) contest, dissension. Targ. Ps. 18:44 פ׳ דעממיא Ms. (ed. פְּלוּגַת ע׳ constr.; ed. Wil. פְּלֻגַת; h. text ריבי); Targ. 2 Sam. 22:44 (ed. Wil. פֵּלְגוּת). Targ. Is. 22:9. Targ. Deut. 17:8; a. e.Tanḥ. Kor. 10 מה ליך בהדי פ׳ (not בהדין) what hast thou to do with that contest (between Moses and Korah)?; Num. R. s. 18 (ed.
